The MaMoni HSS is supporting the MOH&FW for the national roll out of the application of 7.1% chlorhexidine solution for newborn umbilical cord care. The project is supporting the roll out of the intervention in all 64 districts of the country and aims to complete the roll out by June 2016. The support includes technical assistance to the National Newborn and Child Health Cell, located within the IMCI Unit of DGHS, to coordinate the roll out activities, orientation of all public sector service providers up to the community level workers, implementation of social and behavior change communication activities, monitoring and supervision, strengthening the reporting and logistics management and coordination with various partners and stakeholders supporting the roll out of this intervention.
